The RC Highway Department is looking for a dependable candidate to fill the full time Equipment Operator II position. The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and will be required to obtain their CDL within the first year of employment. The County will provide training and assistance to the candidate in the CDL licensing process. Successful candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment, such as graders, bulldozer, tandem axle trucks, asphalt oil distributor, chip spreader, etc. May do flagging, shovel work and miscellaneous manual labor. Skills in operating motorized equipment and power tools are necessary along with the ability to plan, organize and work independently. Computer skills will be helpful. Duties will be performed both indoor and in outdoor environments. The successful candidate must reside within 30 minutes travel time to the Lisbon County Shop. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of a two-year Associates Degree is desired. Ransom County is looking for a dependable candidate to fill the FT position of Road Supervisor (RS) which does not require a CDL license to start work but the successful candidate will be required to obtain the CDL within the first year of employment. The County will provide training and assistance to the candidate in the CDL licensing process. Successful candidate must reside within 30 minutes travel time to the Lisbon Shop. The RS is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Ransom County Highway Department. Directs activities of workers concerned with construction and maintenance of highways, roads and bridges. Develops and maintains departmental budget and administers policy and has the ability to operate word processing, spreadsheet and email software. A valid driver’s license is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of a 2-year Associates degree and/or three years related experience in high level administrative support duties that included participation in the development of major projects or procedures, is desired. Motor Vehicle/Treasurer position
Part time employee to work 3 days per week in the Ransom County Treasurer/Motor Vehicle Office. Duties would include but are not limited to, Motor Vehicle Customer Service and various clerical duties in the Treasurers Office. Required skills include basic accounting experience, use of Microsoft Office and Excel are helpful, and attention to detail & accuracy.
